What Is Photobiomodulation?
What is PBM Red Light Therapy?
PBM therapy is the application of red and near-infrared light to diseased or injured tissues to reduce inflammation, promote regeneration and enhance immune resilience.
PBM triggers photochemical changes in the body, in the same way, photosynthesis affects plants or sunlight stimulates vitamin D synthesis. "Every middle school child who studies biology will know what mitochondria are. They are the parts inside every one of our 37 trillion cells that make energy (ATP).
But when we are injured, stressed, or just old, those mitochondria produce less ATP and more free radicals (ROS).
These ROS lead to inflammation (inflammatory cytokines), cell death, and the triggering of genetic weaknesses that lead to degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis, dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, cancer, etc.
When we apply light at the right wavelength, intensity, and time parameters, inflammatory cytokines are reduced, ATP is increased, and the body starts to heal more quickly."

What is the difference between the Palms?
We have 4 models of Palm (handheld) light therapy devices to meet your needs!PALM CLASSIC:Our first model was the Classic. It only offers the 660nm wavelength for bright red light, which is great for skin & dermatologic issues such as wounds or scars. This wavelength is included in all of the palms since it also stimulates circulation, promotes healthy blood flow into the site, oxygenation, and removal of cellular debris from the site. The 660nm light also increases collagen production. All of these functions of the 660nm wavelength are wonderful for preparing the site for cellular restoration!PALM PROFESSIONAL:Our second model was the Palm Professional (Pro). In addition to the 660nm wavelength that stimulates circulation and prepares the site, Palm Professional also offers the 810nm wavelength that has been clinically shown to provide deeper penetration of the light into the body. The Pro is great for aches and pains of most joints because it uses Photobiomodulation, which has been clinically proven to reduce pain and inflammation!PALM ULTIMATE:Our third model was the Palm Ultimate. It has the same 660nm & 810nm wavelengths as the Palm Professional, but it offers 25% more optical power than the Palm Professional, allowing you to reach those deeper areas faster! So, the Ultimate is 25% more powerful to reach the body issues that are bothering you!SuperPalm 1050:Our newest model, the SuperPalm 1050, offers a 1050nm wavelength for even deeper penetration of tissues based on clinical research. So, the SuperPalm 1050 is our best handheld model for relieving aches and pains, and especially for reaching large joints like the hip and deep back muscles!
Is there a warranty?
Yes, every Palm device comes with a 1-year warranty. The SuperPalm 1050 and larger products come with a 2-year warranty.
Which device is better for each condition?

How do SunPowerLED products differ from competitors?
1) Tom Kerber invented a special cooling system in order to vastly increase the optical power of our SunPowerLED light therapy devices. That extra optical power allows for deeper penetration of the light, so you can reach your wellness goals faster!
2) Our SunPowerLED products are also specifically designed to offer more evenly distributed light. Unlike other light devices, our products supply a "wall' of light with no hot spots.
Why does SunPowerLED use LEDs instead of lasers?
Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are generally considered safer than lasers, making them much easier to use at home without medical supervision.Also, LEDs can be less expensive but offer a larger area of effect and even more power than many lasers available!For more info, please see the pictures at the bottom of this page.
Can I use a SunPowerLED device through clothing?
It is best to use our devices with direct skin contact in order to get the most benefit since the light's energy is partially blocked by clothing. Also, please be cautious of blocking the air vents with any clothing, towels or bedding.
Do I need special glasses?
No, all of our SunPowerLED products use safe, FDA Class 2 LEDs instead of lasers. Users may wish to wear light-filtering glasses to decrease the brightness of the LEDs, but they are not necessary. If our light devices are used near the eyes, please close your eyes. Feel free to pretend you are at the beach!
